8:50PM IL: EMS officials report the call for the terrorist attack came in at 19:34. At this time, police and other security forces continue to comb the bus station to rule out additional terrorists do not remain at large.

According to the preliminary findings from the scene, the first terrorist fired into the bus station from outside. This resulted in panic and the wounding of a number of people. There were civilian guards and security forces in the station, all responding immediately.

A second terrorist who was in a bathroom then emerged. It is believed he got hold of a weapon from a soldier and used it to begin firing. He may of used a knife to cut the gun strap of a soldier. This is unclear at this early stage following the attack. It is still unclear is any of the seven victims sustained knife wounds or if all the injured were shot.

The two terrorists were fired upon. The first was killed and the second critically wounded.

There was a total of 10 persons wounded from gunfire according to officials in the trauma center. One has since died and two are in surgery as surgeons seek to stabilize their condition. The others are wounded light and moderate. There are also seven people being treated for hysteria. Many concerned residents are outside the trauma unit, some crying, trying to determine if their loved ones are among the wounded since many people report their loved one did not respond to the phone. All of the wounded are reportedly in their 20s.

It was reported earlier police were chasing after a vehicle believed to have transported the terrorists to the bus station. It is unknown if that vehicle was apprehended.

9:06PM IL: All clear given. Police confirm there are no terrorists at large.

9:10PM IL: Ziad, the security officer of the bus station heard the initial shots, 10-15, and fired at the terrorist who was heading towards an IDF soldier. He pulled his pistol and fired at the advancing terrorist, killing him.

“I realized there may be another terrorist and together with security forces in the area we began doing what we had to do. police are now begin to piece together what occurred and the necessary lessons will be learned as far as how they got into the bus station and other questions which will have to answered. I am in the station and usually walk around, check suspicious people and make sure security personnel are alert. I soon as I heard shots I ran an acted as required” Ziad told Channel 10 News.

9:17PM IL: Details surrounding the attack are likely to change in the coming hours. At this time, it appear that the terrorists were armed with handguns and at least one of them succeeded in grabbing an automatic weapon from a soldier.

9:20PM IL: Soroka Medical Center emergency information number has been activated. The number is 12-55-177.

9:41PM IL: Israel Police Southern District Chief Yoram Levy reports it is now believed there was only one terrorist who attacked security agent, stabbed him and stole his automatic weapon.

The person believed to be the second terrorist appears to be a foreign national from Eretria who was mistaken for a terrorist because of his appearance. He was fired upon by border police and Yassam commando police. He remains in critical condition.
